Greg King

Greg King was born in Dayton Ohio to a musical family.
Starting out with trumpet in the school band and then soon finding himself elected to the school honors band to play at the U.D. Arena.
As a teenager he decided to exchange the trumpet for the bass guitar. Moving to Minnesota in the early eighties, he started playing drums as well as bass in the top forties bands in the twin cities area.

Then hooking up with the Drifters group in L.A. in the mid eighties. After touring across the states with the Drifters, he turned to writing original material and playing with various rock bands until the finish of the eighties.

He then started playing the blues circuit in California at various biker functions and blues festivals such as Sacramento, Oakland, Monterey and Reno. Opening for B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry, Eric Burden, Honey Boy Edwards, Booker T. & the MGs and many others. He also played the California State Fair many years in a row. He then returned back to the Rock N Roll circuit and started opening for bands such as Pablo Cruise, Joe Cocker, Sammy Hagar, The Guess Who, Rare Earth, and also many radio station promotions...He has now found himself playing with the group Stoneground.
